Michael Olise is far from an ordinary footballer.
Born and raised in England, the Bayern Munich forward now shines on the international stage for the French national team at the FIFA World Cup.
The 24-year-old attacker, who previously played for Reading and Crystal Palace, is known for keeping a low profile. He avoids media attention, enjoys playing chess, rarely celebrates after scoring, dislikes giving interviews, and, unlike many football superstars, has no endorsement deals with major sportswear or boot manufacturers.
Following an outstanding Bundesliga campaign in which he scored 25 goals and provided 28 assists, Olise has established himself as one of the world’s most exciting footballers.
He also became the first player since Germany’s Thomas Hässler in 1994 to register five assists at a FIFA World Cup.
Those who have known Olise since childhood say his reserved personality should never be mistaken for arrogance. Instead, they describe him as humble, calm, and naturally private.
Olise was born in London to a mother of French-Algerian heritage and a Nigerian father. His exceptional football talent was evident from an early age, setting him on a path that has seen him become one of the brightest stars in world football.
